A security guard's primary duty is to protect a specific premises, property, and the people within it from various threats such as crime, vandalism, damage, or unauthorized access.
Patrolling: Conducting regular patrols on foot or by vehicle in designated areas to detect and prevent suspicious activities or security breaches.
Monitoring: Monitoring security cameras (CCTV) and alarm systems, and identifying any potential security breaches or threats.
Access Control: Controlling the entry/exit of individuals and vehicles at access points, checking identification (IDs), and maintaining visitor logs.
Emergency Response: Responding immediately and effectively to security incidents, emergencies (like fires or medical emergencies), or disturbances.
Reporting: Preparing detailed records and reports of incidents, daily activities, and any security concerns.
Enforcing Rules: Implementing policies and procedures related to the company's security, safety, and code of conduct.
Qualification: Minimum 8th or 10th grade pass (as per employer requirement).
Training: Must have necessary security training and licensing in compliance with the Private Security Agencies Regulation Act, 2005 (PSARA).
Physical Fitness: Physically fit to stand for long periods, patrol, and handle physically challenging situations.
